Personally, I love the simplicity of some of the Core weapons and specs, and think it would do wonders for build diversity for them to be brought up to par with some of the Elites. They don't have to be comparable, but it's pretty easy for Elites to get 50-100% more damage/heal/boon support than similar Core builds on the same class.Tempest can provide alacrity and healing while catalyst can provide quickness, although they aren't commonly chosen over other classes which can provide these boons. Catalyst is also one of the best DPS specs. Both are also good for PvP, tempest as a healer and catalyst as a duelist. The first elite spec build is the Power Quickness Scrapper. The Scrapper is unlocked for the Engineer from Heart of Thorns, the first Guild Wars 2 expansion. With the Scrapper spec, the Engineer is turned from a ranged class into a melee bruiser/tank. Specializing into Scrapper gives the ability to wield a two-handed Hammer.
While I enjoy new elite specs, it seems GW2 is at the point that it is becoming too difficult to maintain balance and individuality. While each profession has, and hopefully will maintain, a unique feel, it is possible that there might be some concern about future elite specs maintaining a unique feel within the feel of the main profession and/or that elite specs from different professions
Guild Wars 2's fourth expansion, called Secrets of the Obscure, will release on August 22. (ie, class) a new elite spec, which took the form of new combat mechanics and a new weapon to equip
Literally every class is able to play a dps role. In terms of what's beginner-friendly, guardian, warrior and necromancer are all fairly tanky options that are straightforward to learn and, if you have the expansions, their HoT elite specs (dragonhunter, berserker and reaper respectively) are all considered to be good options as dps specs.
Aside from the desired Tengu from which Cantha has many of. What about Largos? They have rich culture just waiting to be pried out. Which itself can be based off of the original Guild Wars 1 Assassin. Many largos dual wield swords which could be a new addition to the THIEF class as an offhand weapWhen designing a new elite specialization, Arena Net reviews all aspects of Guild Wars 2 to identify areas where a class may be lacking or underperforming.Whether it's the general open world and hardcore endgame PvE or structured PvP and World vs. World, classes are examined to determine if there is a gap in the roles they perform or if they may be under-represented in a particular facet of
